......... get it?
There are reports that there will be three new songs added to the Nine film, one of which for a new character rumored to be played by Kate Hudson, as a Vogue magazine writer.
I've been really on board with this Nine production. I think the cast is really fascinating, if not who I would naturally pick for these parts. I particularly love Marion Cotillard--have you seen La Vie En Rose? She is astounding.
I'm particularly on board with Rob Marshall. I think he is the perfect choice to helm this highly stylized piece. I would go see anything he did. He seems to gather immense trust with his actors, particularly the women. Daniel Day-Lewis is not who'd I'd choose as Guido, but aren't you intrigued????
I'm nervous for Kate Hudson. Has she ever been great in anything since Almost Famous? Not that I can recall. Don't mess up the movie with your added role, Kate.
Why must composers add songs for the movie? Is it simply to get a potential Oscar nomination and/or win? It doesn't always work (see Hairspray, though I did love the song they added over the credits). What moments are there to musicalize that they didn't musicalize the first time around? Is musicalize a word?
Please let this movie remind us of Chicago in how the improvements were for the better, not the worse.
